Good News: J&K Govt Announces 32,000+ Vacancies Across Departments

Sajad Lone Demands Answers on Recruitment: J&K Govt Reveals 32,474 Vacancies.

The Legislative Assembly heard from the Jammu and Kashmir government that over 32,474 job vacancies exist in various departments.

In reply to an MLA media query raised by Handwara, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, head of the General Administration Department, stated in a written reply that these vacancies were last recorded after January 31, 2005.

The break-up is 2,503 gazetted, 19,214 non-gazetted, and 10,757 multi-tasking staffers.

The government meanwhile stated that there have been since taking over Omar Abdullah’s government on October 16, 2004, 3,727 vacancies, including 738 gazetted, 1,754 non-gazetted, and 1,235 multi-tasking staff appointments referred to the Jammu & Kashmir Service Selection Board and Public Service Commission.

This government also revealed that Rs 14.17 crore was collected from examination fees charged to job aspirants by the SSB and PSC.

Regarding waiving examination fees for job seekers, the government clarified that no such proposal is present being considered
