Srinagar: In an effort to provide a platform for the valley’s youth to showcase their spiritual and vocal talents, the Angel’s Cultural Academy, in collaboration with the Shahr-e-Khaas Literary & Cultural Welfare Society, organized a major cultural event in the summer capital.

The one-day ‘Grand Mehfil-e-Naat’ competition took place on March 16, 2026, at the Shahenshah Palace on Boulevard Road, drawing enthusiastic participation from students across various schools and colleges.

Setting the tone for the day, Dr. Tariq Ahmad Shera, President of the organizing body, delivered a warm welcome address. He expressed gratitude to the participants and emphasized the organization’s ongoing commitment to uplifting the region’s multi-talented youth through continuous cultural initiatives.

Distinguished Guests and Expert Panel

The Mehfil saw the presence of several prominent figures from the socio-cultural landscape of Kashmir.

  • Chief Guests: Khawaja Farooq Renzu Shah and Molvi Adil Noorani presided over the event.
  • Special Guests: The gathering was attended by Altaf Bhat (President IHRO), Wahid Punjabi, youngest historian Umar Farooq Bhat, renowned singer Ayaan Sajad, and celebrated Kashmiri poetess Mehjabeen Gousia, alongside Rehana and Muneer Ahmad.
  • The Jury: A respected panel comprising Rahil Kashmiri, Aamir Noorani, and Sameer Ahmad Shah carefully evaluated the recitations based on pronunciation, rhythm, and emotional delivery.

The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony where position holders, participants, and guests were presented with awards, gifts, and mementos to recognize their contributions.
