This year’s National Youth Day is not just a ceremonial tribute but a strategic move to integrate youth into the highest levels of governance. Around 3,000 young leaders—selected from over 50 lakh participants across India—will present their blueprint for a “Developed India 2047.”

The Grand Finale at Bharat Mandapam

The event, organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, has been running from January 9 and will conclude on January 12.

  • Date: Monday, January 12, 2026.
  • Time: 4:30 PM (PM Modi’s Address).
  • Venue: Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
  • Participants: The gathering includes 1,500 winners from the ‘Viksit Bharat Challenge Track’, 1,000 from the ‘Cultural & Design Track’, and 100 international delegates representing the Indian diaspora.

Youth to Present Ideas to PM Modi

Unlike traditional rallies, this event focuses on policy input. Ten selected youth representatives will make high-impact presentations directly to Prime Minister Modi. These presentations are the result of a rigorous selection process involving essay competitions and state-level debates.

The 3 Key Focus Areas:

  1. Innovation & Tech: Using AI and Digital India for grassroots solutions.
  2. Green Energy: Building a sustainable, carbon-neutral Bharat.
  3. Women-led Development: Moving from women’s empowerment to women-led governance.

Why January 12? (Swami Vivekananda’s Legacy)

January 12 marks the birthday of Swami Vivekananda, a global icon who introduced Indian philosophy to the West. The Government of India declared this day as National Youth Day in 1984 to inspire generations with his message: “Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached.” This year, the celebrations also include a “Viksit Bharat Exhibition” showcasing startups and cultural heritage.

Where to Watch Live?

The event will be broadcast live across national networks.

  • TV: Doordarshan (DD National & DD News).
  • Online: PM Narendra Modi’s YouTube Channel & MyGov India.

Key Highlights:

  • Event: Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (Finale).
  • Chief Guest: PM Narendra Modi.
  • Scale: 3,000 Youth Leaders from 28 States & UTs.
  • Outcome: Youth policy recommendations for “Viksit Bharat 2047”.

Conclusion: With the youth demographic being India’s biggest asset, this dialogue marks a shift from “working for youth” to “working with youth.” As the PM listens to the ideas of Gen Z, the nation watches with hope. Happy National Youth Day 2026!
