MUMBAI / SRINAGAR:
In a major business development for cricket investors, the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) has officially opened the window for corporate entities and investors to bid for co-ownership of the Srinagar Ke Veer franchise.
The team, currently owned by Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, is one of the most popular franchises in the tennis-ball T10 league. This move offers a rare chance for investors to share the owner’s box with the actor and tap into the massive cricketing fanbase of Jammu & Kashmir.
The Bidding Details (Tender Notice)
According to the official announcement made by the ISPL Governing Council on Sunday (Jan 18):
- What is on offer? A co-ownership stake in Srinagar Ke Veer.
- Deadline: The bidding window closes on January 31, 2026.
- How to Bid: Interested parties can submit their “Invitation to Bid” (ITB) documents via the official ISPL portal.
- Objective: The league aims to bring in strategic partners to “enhance franchise value” and expand the cricketing ecosystem in the region.
Why Invest in ‘Srinagar Ke Veer’?
The franchise has been one of the most consistent performers in the league’s short history:
- Season 1 (2024): reached the Semi-Finals.
- Season 2 (2025): Finished as Runners-up, narrowly missing the title.
- Season 3 (Current): The team is currently competing in the ongoing season (Jan 9 – Feb 6) in Surat.
Official Statement
Suraj Samat, ISPL League Commissioner, commented on the development:
“This is a long-term investment opportunity alongside Akshay Kumar in a league that is building sustainable revenues and national relevance. The co-ownership model allows partners to actively participate in franchise value creation.”
