TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR

  1. From 04-05-2025, 1700 hrs to 05-05-2025, 1700 hrs, there was slow movement observed on National Highway (NH-44) due to the movement of 13 nomadic flocks and single-lane traffic at Dalwas, Peeda, and Mehad, between Marog and Kishtwari Pather, and due to four-lane construction work.
  2. Traffic managed in a regulated manner at Mehad, Cafeteria, and Ramban on National Highway (NH-44) due to a single lane about 150-200 m. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline; overtaking and wrong lane driving will cause congestion. Be patient while traffic is plying from the other side.
  3. Passengers/LMV operators are advised to undertake journeys on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) during the daytime, as there is apprehension of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal.
  4. Goods carrier (HMV/LMV) Operators carrying fresh perishable/live stock are advised to load their vehicle as per advisories issued by Traffic Police Headquarters from time to time, as there is single-lane traffic and poor road conditions at Dalwas, Mehad and between Marog & Kishtwari Pather on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44).
  5. HMV Operators/Owners are requested to desist from overloading and carry sufficient fuel during journeys on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44). It is further requested that vehicle owners must double-check the fitness of their vehicles and carry sufficient fuel before undertaking a journey on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44).
  6. HMVs with only 06 and 10 tyres shall be allowed to ply through Dhar Road.
  7. Commuters are advised to avoid unnecessary halting between Ramban and Banihal, especially near landslide/shooting stone areas.
