After reviewing applications for Session 1, NTA found that several candidates either used identity proofs other than Aadhaar or had a mismatch between their live registration photograph and the photograph stored in the UIDAI database.
To avoid problems on exam day, NTA introduced a Photo Verification Certificate requirement for this specific group of applicants.
