Key Updates on NH-44 (Jammu-Srinagar Highway)

🚧 Slow Traffic Observed:

  • Due to HMV breakdowns and single-lane traffic at Dalwas, Mehad, Marog, and Kishtwari Pather.
  • Four-lane construction work is also affecting movement.

πŸš— Travel Advisory for LMVs & Passengers:

  • Daytime travel recommended due to the risk of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal.
  • Avoid unnecessary halts in landslide-prone areas.

πŸš› Guidelines for Goods Carrier Operators (HMVs & LMVs):

  • Single-lane traffic and poor road conditions require strict adherence to advisories.
  • No overloading; ensure sufficient fuel and vehicle fitness before travel.
  • Only 06- and 10-tyre HMVs are allowed via Dhar Road.

Traffic Plan for February 9, 2025

βœ… LMVs (Passenger/Private Cars) & HMVs:

  • Allowed from both sides (Jammu ↔ Srinagar), subject to fair weather and road conditions.
  • TCU Jammu & Srinagar will coordinate with TCU Ramban for updates.
  • Check J&K Traffic Police Twitter/Facebook pages before starting the journey.

πŸš” Security Forces Convoy Movement:

  • Allowed both ways (Jammu ↔ Srinagar) if weather and road conditions permit.

Other Road Updates

❌ Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag Road (NH-244) – Closed as per SDM Kokernag’s advisory.
βœ… SSG Road (Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari) – One-way traffic from Kargil β†’ Srinagar (LMVs followed by HMVs with anti-skid chains).
❌ Mughal Road – Closed due to snow as per DM Poonch’s order.
❌ Bhaderwah-Chamba Road – Closed due to snow accumulation.
