Srinagar/Jammu: It is a decisive week for students across the Union Territory. While students in the Kashmir Division (Winter Zone) are celebrating their Annual Regular 2025 Results, their counterparts in the Jammu Division (Summer Zone) have received their final Date Sheet for the upcoming 2026 exams.

January 16, 2026 brings a mix of relief and anxiety as the Meteorological Department (MeT) forecasts a fresh wet spell starting January 19. This weather update is critical for Jammu schools set to reopen after winter vacations and for Kashmir students collecting their official marks cards.

1. Kashmir Division: Results Declared (Nov Session)

The wait is over for the Winter Zone. The JKBOSE has officially declared the results for the Annual Regular 2025 (Oct-Nov Session).

  • Class 10th Status: Declared. Pass percentage has shown an upward trend.
  • Class 12th Status: Declared. Students can check their scores online.
  • How to Check: Visit jkbose.nic.in or jkresults.nic.in. Enter your Roll Number and Registration Number.
  • Next Step: Distribution of physical marks cards may be delayed slightly in remote areas due to the upcoming snow forecast.

2. Jammu Division: Date Sheet Out (Summer Zone)

For students in the Jammu plains (Summer Zone), the countdown has officially begun. The Board has released the final schedule for the Annual Regular 2026 exams.

  • Class 10th Exams: Begin February 17, 2026 (Tuesday).
  • Class 12th Exams: Begin February 23, 2026 (Monday).
  • Admit Cards: Schools will begin distributing Admit Cards by the first week of February.

3. The Weather Factor: Snow from Jan 19

MeT Srinagar has issued a yellow alert for a Western Disturbance affecting the region.

  • Jan 16-18: Generally cloudy with light snow in isolated higher reaches.
  • Jan 19-21 (Impact Days): A wet spell is expected with light to moderate snowfall in Kashmir plains and rain in Jammu.
  • Jan 23-24: Moderate to heavy snow predicted for South Kashmir and Chenab Valley.

Local Impact: Schools & Highways

  • Jammu Schools: Winter vacations for Summer Zone schools were extended until January 17, 2026. With rain predicted from Jan 19, parents should watch for further extension orders from the Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ).
  • Highway Status: The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) may face shooting stones in the Ramban sector during the Jan 23-24 spell, potentially delaying the transport of exam materials or result cards.

Key Highlights

  • Kashmir Status: Class 10/12 Results DECLARED.
  • Jammu Status: Exams start Feb 17, 2026.
  • Weather: Snow/Rain predicted Jan 19-24.
  • Action: Check results online; avoid travel on NH-44 during heavy rain.
