Srinagar: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns to facilitate essential maintenance and repair work on several high-tension transmission lines and grid stations. The most significant disruption is set to begin on Saturday, January 17, involving the Delina Grid Sub-Station, which will impact electricity supply across large parts of North and Central Kashmir for a week.
Week-Long Outage: Delina GSS Schedule (Jan 17 – Jan 23)
According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution (KPDCL), a daily two-hour shutdown will be observed at the 480 MVA 220/132/33 kV Grid Sub-Station Delina from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM starting tomorrow.
Affected Areas Include:
- Baramulla & Surroundings: Panzipora, Tarzoo, Hygam, Shair Colony, Arampora, Mahrajpora, Bugoo, Hathlangoo, Warpora, Dooru, Shiva, Tujjar Sharief, Shrian, Nowpora, Mazbugh, and Reban.
- Central & North Localities: Achabal, Doabgah, Ferozpora, Panzulla, Shutloo, Chakloo, Ladoora, Nadihal, Seer, and Dangiwachi.
- Critical Installations: DC Office Baramulla, Fruit Mandi, Railway installations, Water Supply Schemes, and Industrial units.

In addition to the Delina GSS, several other 33 kV lines will undergo maintenance:
- Ganderbal (Wangath Tap Line): Power supply to Babanagri, Wangath, Naranag, and Kachnambal will remain affected on January 17 from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
- South Kashmir (Wanpoh SICOP Line): Disruptions scheduled for January 19 and 21 (10:00 AM to 3:00 PM) in Veer, Srigufwara, Zirpara, and Bijbehara areas.
- Ganderbal (Lar Tap Line): Outages expected on January 19 (10:00 AM to 3:00 PM) for Lar, Waliwar, and Repore.
