These developments will guarantee that taxpayers won’t have to deal with the issues of tax deduction and collection as they used to be when making large purchases or conducting business overseas. Tell us what unique adjustments the budget now features.

TDS TCS Rules Change: The Union Budget reveals several tax-related specific modifications made by the government. Particularly, several improvements have been made to streamline TDS and TCS. Aiming to streamline the tax laws for normal taxpayers and businessmen and eradicate needless issues, this modification will be executed from April 1, 2025.

These developments will guarantee that taxpayers won’t have to deal with the issues of tax deduction and collection as they used to be when making large purchases or conducting business overseas. Tell us what unique adjustments the budget now features.

Fresh TDS Limit

TDS is deducted after a specified limit when you pay rent or make any large payment following interest earned from the bank. It is suggested in this budget to rationalize these restrictions so that the cash flow stays better and you do not have to repeatedly deal with needless tax deductions.

Relief in terms of overseas money-sending

Now, without TCS, an exemption of up to 10 lakh rupees has been granted instead of 7 lakhs. Now there is relief news for you should you send money overseas for family bills, children’s education, or any other cause. TCS had to be paid earlier in more than 7 lakh rupees, but today, the ceiling has been raised to 10 lakh rupees.

Not only this but no TCS would be deducted from the money being transferred through an education loan. Students studying overseas, as well as their parents, will find much respite from this.

TCS deleted more than Rs 50 lakh’s sales

Should you run a firm and have significant sales, you would now be exempt from deducting 0.1% TCS on sales of more than Rs 50 lakh.

More TDS will not be taken from people who do not file tax returns.

Until recently, the maximum TDS / TCS was deducted from someone if he failed to file an Income Tax Return (ITR). This clause has been suggested to be eliminated from Budget 2025 so that now average taxpayers and small businesses would be relieved from needless high tax rates.

No more jail for TCS depositing delay?

Until now, a person has risked fines and penalties ranging from three months to seven years if he fails to deposit the TCS amount in a timely manner to the authorities. Budget 2025 has changed this law such that, should the overdue TCS be deposited within the designated period, no legal action would be taken.
