TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR
- From 04-03-2025, 1700 hrs. to 05-03-2025, 1700 hrs., there was slow movement observed on NH-44 due to the breakdown of 02 HMVs, single-lane traffic at Dalwas, Mehad, between Marog and Kishtwari Pather, and due to four-lane construction work.
- Passengers and operators of Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) such as cars and motorcycles are advised to undertake their journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW during the day, as there is a risk of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal.
- Goods carrier (HMV/LMV) Operators carrying fresh perishable/livestock are advised to load their vehicle as per advisory issued by Traffic Police Headquarters from time to time as there is single lane traffic and poor condition of the road at Dalwas, Mehad, and between Marog & Kishtwari Pather on Jammu Srinagar NHW.
- HMV Operators/Owners are requested to avoid overloading their vehicles and to carry sufficient fuel during their journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. It is further requested that vehicle owners must double check the fitness of their vehicles and carry sufficient fuel before undertaking their journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.
- HMVs with only 06 and 10 tires shall be allowed to ply through Dhar road. Commuters are strongly advised to avoid halts between Ramban and Banihal, especially near landslide/shooting stone areas. This caution is necessary for your safety and the smooth flow of traffic.
TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 06-03-2025:-
Jammu Srinagar National Highway (NH-44): Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44), from Jammu towards Srinagar, and vice versa. However, after assessing the road condition, HMVs (Load carriers) shall be permitted from Jakheni (Udhampur) to Srinagar. TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban for road conditions. Commuters are requested to check NH 44 status on the J&K Traffic Police’s Twitter handle and Facebook page.
SFs Convoy Movement:-
Security Forces are advised/requested to strictly adhere to the traffic plan and not ply against the advisory in view of possible traffic congestion. This consideration will help maintain the flow of traffic on the narrow carriageway between Nashree and Banihal on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.
Kishtwar- Sinthan- Anantnag NH-244:-
Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road is closed for vehicular movement as per SubDivisional Magistrate Kokernag’s advisory ends. No. SDM/KNG/2024-25/3139-45 dated 16-01-2025 .
SSG ROAD
Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari Road is still closed due to snow accumulation.
Mughal Road:-
Mughal Road is closed for vehicular movement as per District Magistrate Poonch’s order. No. DMP/JC/7273-92 dated 18-01-2025, given snow accumulation.
Bhaderwah-Chamba road:-
Bhaderwah-Chamba Road is still closed due to snow accumulation.
