TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 23-12-2025
From 21-12-2025, 1600 hrs to 22-12-2025, 1600 hrs, slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane traffic at Balinalla, Dewal, Nashri–Dalwas, and between Marog and Kishtwari Pather, in addition to the breakdown of two HMVs on NH-44.
In view of the inclement weather forecast issued by the MeT Department, predicting a spell of snowfall/rainfall over the next few days, people are advised to undertake journeys only after confirming the road status from TCU Srinagar / Ramban / Jammu and by checking updates on the J&K Traffic Police Twitter handle and Facebook page.
Passengers and LMV operators are advised to prefer travel on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway during daytime. Please avoid night travel, as the movement of HMVs between Nashri Tunnel and NAVYUG Tunnel may cause inconvenience to commuters.
Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline. Overtaking and wrong-lane driving may cause congestion.
Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44)
Subject to fair weather and improved road conditions, LMVs, Passenger/HPSVs, Private Cars, and HMVs (goods carriers) shall be allowed from both sides on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), i.e., from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa.
TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding road conditions.
SFs Convoy Movement
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), i.e., Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa. Movement shall be undertaken only after confirming the National Highway status from TCU Ramban.
Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244
The Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag road is closed for vehicular movement due to snow accumulation.
SSG Road
The Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumari road is closed for vehicular movement due to snow accumulation.
Mughal Road
The Mughal Road is closed for vehicular movement due to snow accumulation.
