TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR Dec 24, 2025

From 22-12-2025, 1600 hrs to 23-12-2025, 1600 hrs, slow movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane traffic at Balinalla, Dewal, Nashri–Dalwas, and between Marog and Kishtwari Pather, in addition to the breakdown of three HMVs on NH-44.

Passengers and LMV operators are advised to prefer travel on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) during daytime. Please avoid night travel, as the movement of HMVs between Nashri Tunnel and Navyug Tunnel may cause inconvenience to commuters.

Commuters are advised to maintain lane discipline. Overtaking and wrong-lane driving may lead to traffic congestion.

Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44)

Subject to fair weather and improved road conditions, LMVs, passenger vehicles, HPSVs, private cars, and HMVs (goods carriers) shall be allowed from both sides on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), i.e., from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa. TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding road conditions.

SFs Convoy Movement

Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), i.e., Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa. Movement shall be undertaken only after confirming the road status from TCU Ramban.

Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag (NH-244)

The Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag road is closed for vehicular movement due to snow accumulation.

SSG Road

Subject to fair weather and good road conditions (after receiving a green signal from BRO), traffic movement shall be allowed in a regulated manner on the Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumari road as per the following schedule:

  • From Minamarg towards Srinagar:
LMVs followed by HMVs (up to 6 tyres) with anti-skid chains shall be allowed from 0500 hrs to 1000 hrs.
  • From Sonamarg towards Kargil:
LMVs followed by HMVs (up to 6 tyres) with anti-skid chains shall be allowed from 1130 hrs to 1700 hrs.

No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off timings. Motorists are advised to carry anti-skid chains to ensure better grip on slippery roads.

SF convoy movement between Srinagar and Kargil shall be planned in such a manner that civil traffic (both UP and DOWN) is not disrupted.

Mughal Road

The Mughal Road is closed for vehicular movement due to snow accumulation.
