General Advisory

  • Passengers and LMV operators are advised to prefer travel on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) during daytime.
  • Night travel should be avoided, as the movement of HMVs between Nashri Tunnel and Navyug Tunnel may cause inconvenience.
  • Commuters are advised to maintain lane discipline. Overtaking and wrong-lane driving may lead to congestion.

Subject to fair weather and improved road conditions, LMVs (Passenger/HPSVs/Private Cars) and HMVs (Goods Carriers) shall be allowed from both directions—Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa.

TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding road conditions.

Security Forces Convoy Movement

Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both directions on NH-44 after confirming the road status from TCU Ramban.

Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag Road (NH-244)

Subject to fair weather and clearance from NHIDCL, only LMVs shall be allowed from both sides—Anantnag to Kishtwar and vice versa.

Timing:

  • Vehicles shall be allowed from PP Parana and PP Daksum between 1000 hrs and 1400 hrs.

Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumari (SSG) Road

Subject to fair weather and clearance from BRO, traffic shall be allowed in a regulated manner:

  • Minamarg → Srinagar:
    • LMVs followed by HMVs (up to 6 tyres) with anti-skid chains
    • 0800 hrs to 1130 hrs

    • LMVs followed by HMVs (up to 6 tyres) with anti-skid chains
    • 1300 hrs to 1600 hrs

TCU Srinagar and PCR Kargil will notify all concerned about cut-off timings.

Security Forces convoys moving between Srinagar and Kargil shall plan movement in a manner that does not disrupt civil traffic.
