1. There was slow movement from 14-02-2025, 1700 hours. Until 15-02-2025, 1700 hrs. Noted on NH-44 resulting from four-lane construction work, single lane traffic at Dalwas, Mehad, between Marog and Kishtwari Pather, and breakdown of HMVs.
2. Passengers/LMVs are advised to travel on the Jammu-Srinagar NATIONAL HIGHWAY during the daytime as there is concern about shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal.
3. Goods carrier (HMV/LMV) Operators carrying fresh perishable/livestock are advised to load their vehicle as per advisory issued by Traffic Police Headquarters time since Dalwas, Mehad and between Marog & Kishtwari Pather have poor condition of road and single lane traffic.
4. HMV operators/Owners are advised to carry enough gasoline for travel on the Jammu-Srinagar NATIONAL HIGHWAY and stop overloading. Furthermore, it asked that owners of cars double-check their condition and ensure they have enough gas before starting their trip on the Jammu-Srinagar NATIONAL HIGHWAY.
5. HMVs with just 06 and 10 wheels would be let to ply across Dhar road.
6. Drivers are urged to avoid needless stoppage between Ramban and Banihal, particularly close to the location of the landslide/shooting stone.
Advisory for 16-02-2025: Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44)
Subject to good road conditions and favourable weather, LMV Passenger/Private Cars/HMVs will be permitted from both sides of Jammu-Srinagar NATIONAL HIGHWAY (NH-44), from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa. TCU Jammu/Srinagar will coordinate road conditions with TCU Ramban. Drivers are advised to check the status of NH 44 on J&K Traffic Police’s Twitter handle and Facebook page.
Convoy Movement of SFs: In particular:
Fairweather and decent road conditions will allow Security Forces vehicles from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NATIONAL HIGHWAY (NH-44) viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa.
Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag NH-244:
Based on advice from SubDivisional Magistrate Kokernag, no. SDM/KNG/2024-25/3139-45 road is closed for vehicle movement.
SSGroad:
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions (after obtaining a green signal from Road maintenance agencies), only one-way traffic for LMVs followed by HMVs (up to 06 tyres) shall be allowed on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road using Anti-skid chains from Kargil. These cars would be permitted from Minamarg towards Srinagar between 1000 and 1500 hours. No vehicle will be left after the cut-off time. Drivers are urged to wear anti-skid chains to increase their hold on the slick road.
The Mughal Road:
Mughal Road is closed for vehicle traffic per District Magistrate Poonch’s directive endstt, no. DMP/JC/7273-92 dated 18-01-2025 given snow buildup.
Roads Bhaderwah-Chamba Road:
Snow on Bhaderwah-Chamba Road still causes closure.
