Highway Status & Movement Guidelines
Subject to favorable weather and improved road conditions, Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs), including passenger and private cars, as well as Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs), will be allowed to travel from both directions on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44). Travelers are advised to check real-time updates on the J&K Traffic Police Twitter handle and Facebook page.
Security Forces Movement
Security forces’ convoys will be permitted to move in both directions on NH-44, provided the weather and road conditions remain stable.
Road Closures & Restrictions
- Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag Road (NH-244): Closed as per the advisory from the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kokernag.
- Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari (SSG) Road: Currently shut due to snow accumulation. A decision regarding reopening will be made based on road maintenance agency updates.
- Mughal Road: Closed due to heavy snowfall as per the order issued by the District Magistrate, Poonch.
- Bhaderwah-Chamba Road: Remains inaccessible due to snow accumulation.
