FAQ Section

Q1: Why is the Budget being presented on a Sunday?

A1: The Union Budget is strictly scheduled for February 1 to ensure the legislative process (passing of financial bills) is completed before the new financial year begins on April 1. When Feb 1 falls on a Sunday, Parliament convenes for a special sitting rather than delaying the process.

Q2: How long will the budget speech last?

A2: While there is no fixed time, FM Sitharaman’s speeches generally range from 1.5 to 2.5 hours. Her longest speech was in 2020 (2 hours 42 minutes).

Q3: Where can I download the Budget PDF after the speech?

A3: You can download the full budget documents from the official website http://www.indiabudget.gov.in or the Union Budget Mobile App immediately after the speech concludes.
