Srinagar/New Delhi: A significant shift in weather patterns is set to disrupt daily life across North India starting today, January 19, 2026. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast warning of two fresh Western Disturbances (WDs) approaching the region in quick succession, bringing a mix of rain, snow, and thunderstorms.
While the mountains of Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh brace for fresh snowfall, the plains—including Delhi, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh—are preparing for a wet spell combined with dense fog.

According to the MeT Department, the first Western Disturbance is impacting the Western Himalayan region starting tonight (Jan 19).

- Plains (Delhi, Punjab, Haryana): While dry weather prevails today, the second WD is expected to bring light rainfall and thunderstorms between January 22 and 23. Residents should be prepared for sudden weather changes during these days.
