Chamoli (Uttarakhand), March 1: A massive rescue operation is underway in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district after an avalanche struck Mana village and trapped several Border Roads Organization (BRO) workers. So far, 33 workers have been safely rescued, while 22 remain trapped, officials confirmed on Saturday.
State Disaster Management Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman provided updates: “Of the 57 workers present, two were on leave, leaving 55 at the site. So far, 33 have been rescued successfully.” Efforts continue to free the remaining workers.
CM Dhami is closely monitoring rescue efforts.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami oversees the rescue operations from his residence, remaining in constant touch with officials on the ground.

Union Government Assures Full Support
Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke with CM Dhami, the Director Generals of ITBP and NDRF, and assured full government support for the rescue mission. “Our priority is to safely evacuate those trapped in the accident,” he stated.
Rescue operations continue as authorities race against time to protect the remaining workers.
