Delhi Government Takes Major Action on Vehicles: On Saturday, Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that from March 31, the Delhi government will stop fueling automobiles over 15 years old at petrol outlets in the city.
Following meetings with officials to address air pollution in the country’s capital, Sirsa said that the administration is acting strictly to lower emissions and pollutants from automobiles.
The conference covered important policy decisions, including required anti-smog rules, restrictions on older cars, and the switch to electrified public transportation.
Sirsa said following the conference, “We are installing gadgets at petrol pumps that will identify vehicles older than 15 years, and no fuel will be provided to them.”
He said further that the Delhi government will notify the Union Ministry of Petroleum of this ruling.

Furthermore, he said that over 90% of Delhi’s public CNG buses would be phased out by December 2025 and replaced by electric buses in line with the government’s endeavour to support greener and more sustainable public transportation.
