From Champawat, Uttarakhand, 28-year-old Indian Idol 12 winner Pawandeep Rajan He comes from a family immersed in Kumaoni folk music; his mother Saroj and sister Jyotalep are both committed to the same musical legacy, while his father Suresh Rajan is a well-known folk performer.
Pawandeep suffered a major accident on May 5, about 3:40 am, on National Highway 9 close to the Gajraula police station. Reports say his MG Hector crashed into a stalled Eicher Canter truck. Luckily, he was hurried to a private hospital where he is currently said to be in stable condition despite having several injuries.
Rising first in 2015, Pawandeep won The Voice India as part of singer Shaan’s team and brought home a ₹50 lakh cash prize. Following a music career with hit hits like Fursat, Yaad, Mazoor Dil, Tere Liye (from Romeo & Bullet), and O Saiyyonii (from Himesh Ke Dil Se: The Album), he later mentored future contenders on Superstar Singer 2.
After his Indian Idol 12 triumph, Pawandeep became rather well-known because of his soulful voice and appealing appearance among viewers all over. Over five outstanding finalists— Mohd Danish, Arunita Kanjilal, Nihal Tauro, Sayli Kamble, and Shanmukha Priya—he prevailed and brought home the sought-after trophy, a car, and a ₹25 lakh cash award.
