Srinagar, March 2: The Meteorological Department has forecast moderate to heavy snowfall for the higher altitudes of north and central Kashmir on March 3.
A spokesperson from the Meteorological Centre in Srinagar stated that light rain and snow are expected in isolated areas of Jammu and Kashmir by late evening today.
On March 3, the official said that most higher regions will likely experience light to moderate rainfall and snowfall, with some areas in north and central Kashmir possibly facing moderate to heavy snowfall.

However, the official added that the weather is expected to remain dry from March 4 to 9.
A fresh spell of rain and snow is predicted from March 10 to 12.
The official urged tourists, travelers, and transporters to stay updated with advisories issued by local authorities and avoid traveling through avalanche-prone and sloping areas.
Farmers have been advised to halt irrigation and other agricultural activities until March 4.
