Traffic Police Headquarters, J&K, Jammu/Srinagar: Traffic Plan & Advisory for 09‑11‑2025.

NH‑44 (Jammu–Srinagar): Between 07‑11‑2025, 1600 hrs and 08‑11‑2025, 1600 hrs, slow movement was observed due to single‑lane stretches at Bali Nalla, Dewal, Nashri–Dalwas, and between Marog and Kishtwari Pathar, along with movement of nomadic flocks between Marog and Kishtwari Pathar.
Passengers and LMV operators are advised to travel during daytime and avoid night travel due to HMV movement between Nashri Tunnel and NAVYUG Tunnel and ongoing nomad migration, which may inconvenience commuters.
All commuters must follow lane discipline; overtaking and wrong‑lane driving will cause congestion.

Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs (Passenger), HPSVs, Private Cars, and HMVs (goods carriers) shall be allowed from both sides on NH‑44 (Jammu ↔ Srinagar), with TCU Jammu/Srinagar coordinating with TCU Ramban on road status.
Security Forces convoy movement: Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, SF vehicles shall be allowed both ways on NH‑44 after confirming status with TCU Ramban.

Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag (NH‑244): Subject to fair weather and NHIDCL green signal, only LMVs shall be allowed both ways, with vehicles permitted from PP Parana towards Anantnag between 0800–1500 hrs and from PP Daksum towards Kishtwar between 0900–1500 hrs, as per SDM Chhatroo No. SDM/C/2025‑26/530‑37 (15‑09‑2025) and SDM Kokernag No. SDM/KNG/665‑71 (16‑05‑2025).

SSG Road (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumari): Subject to fair weather and BRO clearance, regulated movement will be allowed, with LMVs followed by HMVs from Minamarg towards Srinagar 0500–1000 hrs and from Sonamarg towards Kargil 1130–1730 hrs; no vehicle will be allowed after cutoff.
SF convoys between Srinagar and Kargil should plan to avoid disruption to civil traffic in both directions.

Mughal Road (Poonch–Shopian): Subject to fair weather and clearance by road maintenance agencies (GREF), LMV Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides, with vehicles permitted from Behramgala (Bafliaz) 0600–1730 hrs and from Herpora (Shopian) 0600–1700 hrs as per the district advisory; HMVs (six tyres) shall be allowed from Shopian towards Poonch only, and no HMV movement will be allowed from Poonch towards Mughal Road.
TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned about the traffic advisory and cutoff timings.

Key timings

  • NH‑44: Two‑way LMVs/HMVs permitted, weather and condition permitting; coordinate via TCUs.
  • NH‑244 Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag: LMVs only; Parana → Anantnag 0800–1500 hrs; Daksum → Kishtwar 0900–1500 hrs (per SDM orders).
