The Meteorological Department has forecasted dry weather in Jammu and Kashmir from March 4 to March 9. However, light to moderate rain and snowfall are expected across most parts of the region today, with higher altitudes in north and central Kashmir likely to experience mild to heavy snowfall. This could lead to landslides, shooting stones, and mudslides in vulnerable areas.

According to officials, while the weather will remain wet and snowy today, conditions are expected to improve starting tomorrow, with dry weather prevailing until March 9.
The official further mentioned that from March 10-12, J&K may see another spell of rain and snow.
Tourists, travelers, and transporters are advised to follow weather advisories strictly. Farmers are urged to halt irrigation and other farm activities until March 4 for their safety. Additionally, travelers should avoid areas prone to avalanches and landslides during adverse weather conditions.
