Srinagar March 7: All the government and other private owned educational institutions reopened on March 3, 2023, after a winter holiday of more than two months.
With the reopening of the educational institutions, there was movement on the roads, and buses started running in the morning to pick students from their homes and take them to school. Furthermore, at other locations, many parents were seen helping their children, mostly kindergarten children, who began school on Friday.
The schools commenced their phased winter vacation on December 10, 2024, and were expected to resume classwork on March 01, 2025.

However, in light of the recent snowfall and rains that have been observed in Kashmir, the duration of winter vacation was increased by a few days.
All government and private educational institutions were in high spirits to celebrate the return of students to school from the winter holiday.
Particular attention was being given to newcomers recently admitted to Kindergarten, which consists of Nursery and LKG classes.
Sakina Itoo, the minister for education, wished good luck to the students when the schools reopened.
As students from the Winter Zone schools come back after winter break, I wish them good fortune for the coming term and for their future pursuits. I deeply value the backing from everyone, particularly from the educators in the given context in making it a remarkable and prosperous year. Good for all,”
