Traffic Advisory Jammu-Srinagar NH-44 and Other Key Routes for 25th Feb, 2025

Jammu-Srinagar NH-44: Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs, passenger/private cars, and HMVs shall be allowed from both sides on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), viz., from Jammu to Srinagar and vice versa. TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban for road conditions. Commuters must check the NH-44 status at the J&K Traffic Police’s Twitter handle and Facebook page.

SFs Convoy Movement: –

Subject to fair weather and excellent road conditions, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), viz., Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa.

Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag NH-244:

The Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road is closed for vehicular movement as per Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kokernag’s advisory endstt. No. SDM/KNG/2024-25/3139-45 dated 16-01-2025.

SSG ROAD: –

Subject to fair weather and excellent road conditions (after getting a green signal from road maintenance agencies), only one-way traffic for LMVs followed by HMVs (up to 06 tires) with anti-skid chains from Kargil towards Srinagar shall be allowed on the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road. These vehicles shall be permitted from Minamarg towards Srinagar between 1000 and 1500 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off time. Motorists are advised to carry an anti-skid chain to gain more grip on the slippery road.

Mughal Road:

Due to the accumulation of snow, District Magistrate Poonch’s order No. DMP/JC/7273-92, dated 18-01-2025, has closed Mughal Road for vehicular movement.

Bhaderwah-Chamba Road:

Bhaderwah-Chamba Road is still closed due to snow accumulation.
