NH-44 Update:
Between 1700 hrs on 25th April 2025 and 1700 hrs on 26th April 2025, slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to:
- Movement of 11 nomadic flocks.
- Single-lane traffic at Dalwas, Peeda, and between Mehad & Kishtwari Pather.
- Ongoing four-lane construction work.
Traffic Suspension Notice:
On the request of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and as per the order of the District Magistrate, Ramban (Order No. ADMR/97-110 dated 26-04-2025), permission has been granted to widen and repair the damaged road section.
As a result, traffic will remain suspended between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel from 8:00 AM on 27th April 2025 (Sunday) until 8:00 AM on 28th April 2025 (Monday).
Travellers are advised to avoid using Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) on 27th April 2025 and plan their journeys accordingly.
- Only Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) with 6 or 10 tyres will be allowed to use Dhar Road as an alternative route.
- Commuters are urged to avoid unnecessary stops between Ramban and Banihal, especially near areas prone to landslides and shooting stones.
Traffic Plan & Advisory for 27th April 2025:
1. Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44):
- No vehicular movement will be allowed between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel in either direction.
2. Mughal Road:
- Open for Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) only.
- LMV Passenger/Private cars will be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa via Poonch.
- Vehicles can pass through Behramgala (Baffliaz) and Herpora (Shopian) between 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
3. Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag NH-244:
- Movement on this route will be decided after clearance from the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL).
4. SSG Road (Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri Road):
- Subject to good weather and road clearance by BRO:
- LMVs followed by HMVs will be allowed from Kargil to Srinagar between 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
- After that, only LMVs will be allowed from Srinagar to Kargil between 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM.
- No vehicles will be permitted after the cut-off timings.
5. Bhaderwah-Chamba Road:
- This road remains closed due to snow accumulation.
