The Srinagar-Jammu National Highway (NH-44) will remain closed from Sunday morning until Monday morning to allow for critical repair work following damage caused by recent flash floods in the Ramban area.
According to an official statement, the closure is necessary to ensure the safety of the general public, travelers, and drivers. Acting on a request from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the District Magistrate of Ramban has granted permission for the road widening and urgent repairs.
Traffic Suspension Details:
- Complete shutdown between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel from 8:00 AM on Sunday, April 27, until 8:00 AM on Monday, April 28.
- No vehicle movement will be allowed after 5:00 PM today from:
- Qazigund towards Jammu
- Udhampur towards Srinagar
The spokesperson emphasized that the move is aimed at preventing any accidents or traffic congestion during the repair work.

- Operators transporting fresh perishables or livestock are strongly advised to plan and load their vehicles accordingly, keeping the highway closure in mind.
