TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR
- From 26-04-2025, 1700 hrs., to 27-04-2025, 0800 hrs., there was slow movement observed on NH-44 due to the breakdown of HMVs, the movement of 09 nomadic flocks, single-lane traffic at Dalwas, Peeda, and between Mehad and Kishtwari Pather, and due to four-lane construction work.
- Commuters are requested to please contact TCU Jammu at (0191-2459048, 0191-2740550, 9419147732, 103), TCU Srinagar (0194-2450022, 2485396, 18001807091, 103), TCU Ramban (9419993745), and TCU Udhampur (8491928625) before starting their journey on NH-44 on 28 April 2025 to avoid inconvenience.
- Passengers/LMV operators are advised to undertake journeys on the Jammu-Srinagar NHW during the daytime, as there is apprehension of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal.
- Goods carrier (HMV/LMV) Operators carrying fresh perishable/live stock are advised to load their vehicle as per the advisory issued by Traffic Police Headquarters from time to time, as there is single-lane traffic and poor road conditions at Dalwas, Peeda, between Mehad & Kishtwari Pather on Jammu Srinagar NHW.
- HMVs operators/owners are requested to desist from overloading and carry sufficient fuel during the journey on the Jammu-Srinagar NHW. It is further requested that vehicle owners double-check the fitness of their vehicles and carry sufficient fuel before undertaking a journey on the Jammu-Srinagar NHW.
- HMVs with only 06 and 10 tires shall be allowed to ply through Dhar Road.
- Commuters are advised to avoid unnecessary haltages between Ramban and Banihal, especially near the landslide/shooting stone area.
TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 28-04-2025:-
Jammu-Srinagar National Highway NH-44
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, after getting a green signal from road maintenance agencies (NHAI) tomorrow, one-way traffic for LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar.
LMVs shall be allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) at 0800 hrs., followed by HMVs, which shall be allowed up to 1900 hrs. from Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar.*
No HMV will be allowed after the cutoff time. HMVs shall be allowed after assessing the road and traffic situation on NH-44. TCU Udhampur shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the HMVs.
SFs Convoy Movement:
Security forces are advised/requested not to ply against the advisory/traffic plan in view of possible traffic congestion because of the narrow carriageway between Nashree and Banihal on the Jammu-Srinagar NHW. Tomorrow they may ply from Jammu towards Srinagar after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.
Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag NH-244:
A decision regarding the vehicular movement on the Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road shall be taken after getting a green signal from the road maintenance agency NHIDCL.
SSG ROAD
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, after getting a green signal from the BRO, LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Kargil. These vehicles shall be allowed from Sonamarg between 0900 hrs. and 1130 hrs. Thereafter, only LMVs shall be allowed from Kargil towards Srinagar. These vehicles shall be allowed from Minamarg in between 1230 hrs and 1530 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after the cutoff time.
Mughal Road:
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, after getting a green signal from road maintenance agencies (GREF). LMVs and passenger/private cars shall be allowed from both sides on Mughal Road, viz., from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa via Poonch. However, HMVs (local livestock) with up to six tires only shall be allowed from Poonch towards Shopian. These vehicles shall be allowed from Behramgala (Baffliaz) and Herpora (Shopian) at 0830 hrs. up to 1600 hrs.
Bhaderwah-Chamba road:
The Bhaderwah-Chamba road is still closed due to snow accumulation.
