TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR DEC 04, 2025
Traffic Status – NH-44
From 02-12-2025 (1600 hrs) to 03-12-2025 (1600 hrs), slow movement was observed on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) due to:
- Single-lane traffic at Balinalla, Dewal, Nashri-Dalwas, and between Marog and Kishtwari Pather
- Breakdown of 06 HMVs on the highway
General Advisory for Commuters
- Passengers and LMV operators are advised to prefer travel during daytime.
- Avoid night travel, as the movement of HMVs between Nashri Tunnel and NAVYUG Tunnel may cause inconvenience.
- Lane discipline must be followed.
Overtaking and wrong-lane driving can lead to severe congestion.
Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44)
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs (Passenger), HPVs, Private Cars, and HMVs (Goods carriers) shall be allowed to travel from both sides, i.e., Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa.
- TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar shall coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding the road status.
Security Forces Convoy Movement
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44).
- Movement shall take place only after status confirmation from TCU Ramban.
Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244
Subject to good weather and road conditions and following clearance from NHIDCL, only LMVs shall be allowed from both sides, i.e., Anantnag towards Kishtwar and vice-versa.
- These vehicles shall be permitted from PP Parana and PP Daksum between 1000 hrs to 1500 hrs.
SSG Road (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumari)
Upon clearance from BRO and subject to fair weather:
- Minamarg → Srinagar: LMVs followed by HMVs from 0500 hrs to 1000 hrs
- Sonamarg → Kargil: LMVs followed by HMVs from 1130 hrs to 1730 hrs
- No vehicle shall be permitted after the cut-off timing
SF convoys travelling between Srinagar and Kargil shall plan movement to ensure civilian traffic (UP & DOWN) is not disturbed.
Mughal Road
Subject to favorable weather and road clearance from GREF, LMVs (Passenger/Private Cars) shall be allowed to move from both sides, i.e., Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa via Poonch.
- Behramgala (Bafliaz): 0600 hrs to 1730 hrs
- Herpora (Shopian): 0600 hrs to 1700 hrs
As per advisory issued by District Magistrate Poonch vide No. DMP/J/9291-9318 dated 31-08-2025:
- HMVs (six tyres only) shall be allowed from Poonch towards Shopian
- No HMV shall be permitted from Shopian towards Mughal Road
TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar will notify all concerned about cut-off timings and further updates.
