The Traffic Police Headquarters, Jammu and Kashmir, has issued the latest traffic plan and advisory for Thursday, December 18, 2025, covering NH-44 (Jammu–Srinagar National Highway) and other key routes. The advisory is subject to fair weather and road conditions.
Jammu Srinagar National Highway (NH-44)
From 4:00 pm on December 16 to 4:00 pm on December 17, slow traffic movement was reported on Jammu Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) due to single-lane stretches at Balinalla, Dewal, Nashri–Dalwas and between Marog and Kishtwari Pather, along with the breakdown of two heavy motor vehicles (HMVs).
Passengers and LMV operators are advised to travel during daytime only and avoid night journeys. Movement of HMVs between the Nashri Tunnel and Navyug Tunnel may cause inconvenience during night hours.
Commuters are urged to maintain lane discipline. Overtaking and wrong-lane driving can lead to congestion.
Subject to favourable conditions, LMVs, passenger vehicles, HPSVs, private cars and HMVs (goods carriers) will be allowed from both Jammu and Srinagar sides. Traffic Control Units (TCUs) at Jammu and Srinagar will coordinate with TCU Ramban for real-time road status.
