In a major relief for holidaymakers, the governments of Thailand and Malaysia have officially announced the extension of their “Visa-Free Entry” schemes for Indian citizens into 2026.
If you are planning a winter getaway or a summer trip this year, here are the 5 Destinations where you can just land and stamp your passport—no visa fees, no paperwork.
1. Thailand: Visa-Free Extended till Dec 2026
The “Land of Smiles” continues to welcome Indians with open arms.
- The Update: The Thai Cabinet has approved the extension of the visa waiver for Indian tourists until December 31, 2026.
- The Rule: You can stay for up to 30 days without a visa.
- Requirement: Just a valid passport (with 6 months validity) and proof of return ticket/hotel booking.
2. Malaysia: 30 Days Entry Remains Free
- The Update: Following the success of the 2025 program, Malaysia has renewed the visa-free facility for Indians starting today, Jan 1, 2026.
- Digital Arrival Card: While no visa is needed, you MUST fill out the MDAC (Malaysia Digital Arrival Card) online 3 days before your flight. It is mandatory.
3. Vietnam: The New “E-Visa” Favorite
While not fully “Visa-Free” yet, Vietnam has streamlined its process for 2026.
- The Change: Vietnam now issues 90-Day Multi-Entry E-Visas to all Indian citizens within 24 hours.

4. Iran: Unexplored & Visa-Free
- The Rule: Iran continues its policy allowing Indian tourists to enter without a visa once every 6 months for a stay of up to 15 days.

5. Kenya: ETA Replaces Visa
- The System: Kenya is now “Visa-Free” for everyone, including Indians, but you must pay a small fee ($30) for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) online before travel.
