Traffic Police Headquarters, J&K (Jammu/Srinagar) on Friday issued a traffic plan and advisory for January 10, 2026, advising passengers and LMV operators to travel on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) during daytime only due to single-lane stretches, slow movement, and winter road conditions.
Slow Movement Reported on NH-44
According to Traffic Police Headquarters J&K, slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 between January 8 (1600 hrs) and January 9 (1600 hrs) due to:
- Single-lane traffic at Balinalla, Dewal, Nashri–Dalwas
- Congestion between Marog and Kishtwari Pather
- Breakdown of three heavy motor vehicles (HMVs) on NH-44
Daytime Travel Advised on Jammu–Srinagar Highway
Passengers and LMV operators have been strongly advised to avoid night travel on the Jammu–Srinagar highway.
Traffic Police warned that movement of HMVs between Nashri Tunnel and Navyug Tunnel during night hours may cause inconvenience and congestion, urging commuters to plan journeys during daylight.
