New Delhi—Republic Day Rehearsals at Kartavya Path

The Delhi Traffic Police has restricted movement at key crossings to facilitate the second major rehearsal for the January 26 parade.

  • Timings: 10:15 AM to 12:30 PM.
  • Restricted Areas: Kartavya Path (Vijay Chowk to India Gate), Rafi Marg, Janpath, and Man Singh Road.
  • Alternative Routes:
    • North-South: Use Ring Road via Sarai Kale Khan or Aurobindo Marg.
    • East-West: Use Ring Road via ISBT or Bhairon Road toward Mathura Road.

Jammu & Kashmir—Highway and Snowfall Alert

Fresh snowfall and icy road conditions have led to specific gear mandates on high-altitude routes.

  • NH-44 (Jammu-Srinagar): Open for two-way traffic (LMVs/HMVs) subject to fair weather. Night travel is strictly discouraged due to construction and shooting stone risks between Ramban and Banihal.
  • SSG Road (Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari): Movement allowed from Kargil toward Srinagar (Minamarg) between 11:00 AM and 03:00 PM. Anti-skid chains are mandatory.
  • Mughal Road: Open for LMVs with anti-skid chains from 10:30 AM to 02:30 PM.
  • Closed: The Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road (NH-244) remains closed due to snow accumulation.

Mumbai & Navi Mumbai—WPL 2026 & Election Aftermath

  • Navi Mumbai (Nerul): Expect heavy congestion around DY Patil Stadium as it hosts a Women’s Premier League (WPL) double-header (MI vs UP Warriorz at 3:30 PM and DC vs RCB at 7:30 PM). Service roads near the stadium are closed to general traffic.
  • Mumbai Central/Kurla: Localized diversions remain in effect following the BMC Elections 2026 to manage the movement of personnel and machinery near counting centres until midnight.

Jaipur & Hyderabad Highlights

  • Jaipur: Massive diversions are in place on Mahal Road (suspended until noon for the Army Parade) and JLN Marg (due to the Jaipur Literature Festival). SMS Stadium will face restrictions from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM for the Shaurya Sandhya event.
  • Hyderabad: Major flyovers and the Necklace Road stretch, closed for Shab-e-Meraj observances overnight, are being reopened in phases this morning.

Key Highlights Box:

  • Delhi Peak Congestion: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Central Delhi).
  • J&K Critical Gear: Anti-skid chains mandatory for Zojila and Mughal Road.
  • Navi Mumbai Event: WPL Double Header (Avoid Nerul service roads).
  • Jaipur Hotspot: JLN Marg and SMS Stadium area.
