TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 03-12-2025
Traffic Status – NH-44 (Jammu-Srinagar National Highway)
From 01-12-2025 (1600 hrs) to 02-12-2025 (1600 hrs), slow movement was observed on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway NH-44 due to:
- Single-lane traffic at Balinalla, Dewal, Nashri-Dalwas, and between Marog and Kishtwari Pather
- Breakdown of 03 HMVs on the highway
General Advisory for Commuters
- Passengers and LMV operators are advised to prefer travel during daytime.
- Avoid night travel, as HMV movement between Nashri Tunnel and NAVYUG Tunnel, along with migration of nomads from Kashmir valley towards Jammu, may cause inconvenience.
- Strict lane discipline is advised.
Overtaking and wrong-lane driving may result in traffic congestion.
Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44)
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs (Passenger), HPVs, Private Cars, and HMVs (Goods carriers) shall be allowed to move from both sides, i.e., from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa.
- TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar shall coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding the road status.
Security Forces Convoy Movement
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed to move from both sides on NH-44 (Jammu ↔ Srinagar).
- They shall move only after confirming the status of the National Highway from TCU Ramban.
Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions and after clearance from NHIDCL, only LMVs shall be allowed to travel from both sides, i.e., from Anantnag towards Kishtwar and vice versa.
- Vehicle movement shall be permitted from PP Parana and PP Daksum between 1000 hrs and 1500 hrs.
SSG Road (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumari)
Subject to fair weather and clearance from the BRO, regulated movement of traffic shall be allowed on the SSG Road as under:
- Minamarg → Srinagar: LMVs followed by HMVs allowed from 0500 hrs to 1000 hrs
- Sonamarg → Kargil: LMVs followed by HMVs allowed from 1130 hrs to 1730 hrs
- No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off timing
SF convoys travelling between Srinagar and Kargil shall plan their movement such that civilian traffic (UP & DOWN) is not disturbed.
Mughal Road
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions and after clearance from GREF, LMVs (Passenger/Private Cars) shall be allowed to travel from both sides, i.e., from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa via Poonch.
- Behramgala (Bafliaz): 0600 hrs to 1730 hrs
- Herpora (Shopian): 0600 hrs to 1700 hrs
As per advisory issued by District Magistrate Poonch vide No. DMP/J/9291-9318 dated 31-08-2025:
- HMVs (six tyres only) shall be permitted from Shopian towards Poonch
- No HMV shall be permitted from Poonch towards Mughal Road
TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar will update all concerned regarding cut-off timings and further instructions.
