Traffic Plan & Advisory For Dec 06, 2025

NH-44 (Jammu–Srinagar National Highway)

Road Condition (04-12-2025, 1600 hrs – 05-12-2025, 1600 hrs):
Traffic moved slowly due to single-lane stretches at Ballinalla, Dewal, Nashri–Dalwas and between Marog–Kishtwari Pather, as well as the breakdown of two heavy motor vehicles (HMVs).

  • Advice to Passengers/LMV Operators:
Prefer travelling during the day. Avoid journeys at night due to movement of HMVs between Nashri Tunnel and NAVYUG Tunnel, which may cause inconvenience.
  • General Instructions:
Maintain lane discipline. Avoid overtaking and wrong-lane driving.
  • Traffic Movement:
If weather and road conditions permit, LMVs (passenger/private cars) and HMVs (good carriers) shall be allowed from both sides on NH-44 between Jammu and Srinagar. TCU Jammu and TCU Ramban will confirm final status of the road.

SFs Convoy Movement

Security Forces must move only after confirming the status of NH-44 from TCU Ramban.

Kishtwar – Sinthan – Anantnag NH-244

If weather and road conditions permit—and after clearance from NHIDCL—LMVs only will be allowed from both sides between Anantnag and Kishtwar via Sinthan Top.

  • PP Parana & Daksum will allow movement from 1000 hrs to 1500 hrs.

SSG Road (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumari Road)

If weather and road conditions remain suitable, and after clearance from the BRO:

  • LMVs will be allowed from Minamarg towards Srinagar: 0500 hrs – 1000 hrs
  • LMVs will be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil: 1130 hrs – 1730 hrs
  • HMVs will move from Sonamarg towards Kargil only after 100 hrs (once LMVs finish).
  • No vehicle is allowed after cut-off timings.

SFs Convoy:
Shall move from Srinagar to Kargil and vice-versa without affecting normal civilian traffic.

Mughal Road (Poonch–Shopian Route)

If weather and road conditions permit and after clearance from R&B Department:

  • LMVs, Passenger Vehicles, and Private Cars will be allowed from both sides (Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa).
  • HMVs bound for Srinagar via Poonch–Bafliaz will be allowed from 0600 hrs – 1700 hrs, subject to clearance.
  • Only HMVs (except those carrying perishable goods) will be allowed on this route.

Note: HMWs heading towards Poonch and Shopian will be allowed from both sides. TCUs at Jammu and Srinagar will coordinate traffic based on road conditions.

Important

Travellers should begin their journey only after confirming the latest road status from the Traffic Control Units:

  • Jammu: 0191-2459048, 0191-2740550, 9419147732, 103
  • Srinagar: 0194-2450022, 2485396, 18001807091, 103
  • Ramban: 9419191889, 1800-180-7043
  • Udhampur: 8491928625
