Traffic Plan & Advisory For Dec 08, 2025
NH-44 (Jammu–Srinagar National Highway)
- From 06-12-2025 (1600 hrs) to 07-12-2025 (1600 hrs), slow traffic was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane stretches at Balinalla, Dewal, Nashri–Dalwas, and Marog–Kishtwari Pather, along with breakdowns of three HMVs.
- Passengers and LMV operators are advised to travel during daytime only. Night travel should be avoided because HMV movement between Nashri Tunnel and Navyug Tunnel may cause inconvenience.
- All commuters must follow lane discipline. Overtaking and wrong-lane driving lead to congestion.
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions:
- LMVs, passenger vehicles, HPSVs, private cars, and HMVs (goods carriers) will be allowed to travel from both Jammu to Srinagar and Srinagar to Jammu.
- TCU Jammu/Srinagar will coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding road status.
Security Forces Convoy Movement
- Subject to good weather and road conditions, SF vehicles will be allowed from both sides on NH-44.
- Movement should take place only after confirming NHW status with TCU Ramban.
Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag Road (NH-244)
- Subject to fair weather and clearance from NHIDCL, only LMVs will be allowed from both sides.
- Movement will be permitted between 1000 hrs and 1500 hrs from PP Parana and PP Daksum.
SSG Road (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumari)
- Subject to fair weather and BRO clearance, traffic will be allowed in a regulated manner:
- Minamarg → Srinagar: LMVs followed by HMVs from 0500 hrs to 1000 hrs
- Sonamarg → Kargil: LMVs followed by HMVs from 1130 hrs to 1730 hrs
- No vehicle will be allowed after the cut-off timings.
- SF convoys must plan movement to avoid disturbance to civilian traffic (both up and down).
Mughal Road (via Poonch)
- Subject to fair weather and clearance by GREF, LMVs (passenger and private cars) will be allowed from both sides:
- From Behramgala (Baffliaz): 0600 hrs to 1730 hrs
- From Herpora (Shopian): 0600 hrs to 1700 hrs
- As per advisory issued by District Magistrate Poonch (No. DMP/J/9291-9318 dated 31-08-2025).
- HMVs (six-tyre only) will be allowed from Poonch toward Shopian.
No HMV will be allowed from Shopian toward Mughal Road. - TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar will inform all stakeholders about traffic status and cut-off timings.
