Jammu/Srinagar, Nov 11:
The Traffic Police Headquarters, J&K, has issued an updated traffic plan and advisory for Tuesday, November 11, 2025, covering the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag Road (NH-244), SSG Road, and the Mughal Road.
🛣️ Jammu–Srinagar NH-44 (NHW)
Traffic movement remained slow between 9–10 November due to single-lane conditions at Balinalla, Dewal, Nashri–Dalwas, and Marog–Kishtwari Pather, in addition to HMW breakdowns.
- Travel Advisory: Passengers and LMV operators are advised to travel during daytime and avoid night journeys, as HMV movement and nomadic migration between Nashri Tunnel and NAVYUG Tunnel may cause inconvenience.
- Lane Discipline: Commuters are urged to avoid overtaking or wrong-lane driving to prevent congestion.
- Traffic Movement: Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, LMVs, HPVs, private cars, and goods carriers will be allowed from both sides — Jammu to Srinagar and vice versa.
- Coordination: TCU Jammu and Srinagar will remain in touch with TCU Ramban regarding road status.
🚓 Security Forces Convoy
If weather and road conditions remain favorable, SF vehicles will be permitted from both directions on NH-44, but only after confirming the highway status from TCU Ramban.
🏔️ Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag Road (NH-244)
Following clearance from NHIDCL and favorable weather:
- Only LMVs are permitted both ways — Anantnag to Kishtwar and vice versa.
- Timings:
- From PP Parana to Anantnag: 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- From PP Daksum to Kishtwar: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- Based on orders from SDM Chhatroo (No. SDM/C/2025-26/530-37) and SDM Kokernag (No. SDM/KNG/665-71).
❄️ SSG Road (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumari)
Subject to clearance by the BRO:
- From Minamarg to Srinagar: LMVs followed by HMVs allowed 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
- From Sonamarg to Kargil: LMVs followed by HMVs allowed 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
- No movement will be allowed beyond cutoff timings.
- SF convoys must plan their movement to avoid disturbing civil traffic.
🌉 Mughal Road
With approval from GREF and favorable conditions:
- LMVs and private cars are permitted both ways — Jammu to Srinagar via Poonch.
- Timings:
- From Behramgala (Bafliaz): 6:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- From Herpora (Shopian): 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- HMVs (six tyres only) will be allowed from Shopian towards Poonch.
No HMV will be allowed from Poonch towards Mughal Road.
