Great News for Passengers!
Traveling on a Vande Bharat train but didn’t book food with your ticket? No worries! The Indian Railways has now made it possible for passengers to buy food on board, even if they hadn’t opted for it during booking.
New Railway Board Directive
In a major relief to travelers, the Railway Board has instructed the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to ensure that food is available to all passengers—whether they pre-booked it or not. According to the latest circular, both ready-to-eat (RTE) meals and freshly cooked food (if available) will now be offered to all travelers.
Addressing Passenger Complaints
Previously, many passengers complained that IRCTC staff refused to provide food if they hadn’t selected the meal option while booking. Even those willing to pay for food were denied the service. This change ensures that passengers can now purchase meals onboard without any hassle.
Ensuring Hygienic and Timely Food Service
To improve onboard services, the Railway Board has also issued specific guidelines:
✅ Better quality and hygienic food will be provided.
✅ Trolley-based meal service will be available during the journey.
✅ No food sales after 9 PM—service will stop once dinner is completed.
A Big Relief for Last-Minute Travelers
This move is especially beneficial for passengers who book tickets at the last minute or realize they need food only after starting their journey. Now, travelers can enjoy a comfortable and hassle-free dining experience onboard Vande Bharat trains.
With this passenger-friendly decision, Indian Railways is making train journeys even more convenient and enjoyable! 🚆🍽️
